Many people needing help with stopping foreclosure simply
do nothing and hope for a miracle. Don't
fall into that trap!
Some homeowners act
on their lawyer's advice and file bankruptcy thinking
that all their problems are now solved. Bankruptcy does
put a hold on everything, yes, but all it buys you is
a little time. The end result is almost always the property
still goes to auction and you now have a bankruptcy
in addition to the foreclosure on your credit report.
In almost ALL cases,
the best thing for a homeowner to do when in foreclosure
(assuming that the home owner's loss of income is not
temporary) is to SELL THE
PROPERTY!
The longer
you wait, the harder it is for us to help.

| What
is Foreclosure? |
A legal process by which a mortgaged property may be sold
to pay off a mortgage loan that is usually in default.
|
How
to Avoid Foreclosure?
|
| Following these steps can
keep you from being foreclosed upon |
| |
1. Analyzing your financial
situation and calculating how much, if anything, you
are going to be able to pay.
2. Calling the lender, and speaking with someone in
customer service and letting him know your financial
situation by being polite and up front. The last thing
a lender wants is to take back a property through foreclosure.
3. You can also ask if there is some way you can work
out a compromise regarding your payments until you are
able to get back on your feet or sell the property.
4. As this is a temporary fix, the lender will be willing
to work only for a couple of months.
5. Make plans to resolve the situation, either through
gaining additional income (by taking a second job) or
putting the home for sale.
6. Keep in
contact with the lender. Even if you are unable to keep
your end of the agreement, let the lender know what
is going on. The lender will be much more willing to
help you if you are willing to make an effort.
With
each step in the process, lenders typically add legal
fees, various penalties, and additional interest to
their demands. Call Foreclosure-Help to stop foreclosure
before they add thousands of dollars!
